Dark 1912-D Liberty Nickel

    First sorry about the picture quality. Only got the cellphone at hand. Getting the collecting bug again after taking some time off.

    I got this 1912-D Liberty Nickel which looks to be at least in AU condition under the black. Anything I can do for it like an acetone bath or this is the best it's gonna get?

    Thanks and hopefully the pictures are good enough.

    Sorry, but it's environmental damage. Acetone doesn't do anything when there is a chemical change to the surface. I'm afraid anything you try will only screw it up.

    I don't think it can be helped but an acetone bath can't hurt it.
