<p>
I particularly like type sets. The Dansco Type set album has slots for most (but not all) type coins minted after 1800. I’ve managed to fill my book, but would like to assemble a more complete collection of type coins.
I particularly like type sets. The Dansco Type set album has slots for most (but not all) type coins minted after 1800. I’ve managed to fill my book, but would like to assemble a more complete collection of type coins. Unfortunately, the Dansco book does not have openings for any of the draped bust or earlier silver type coins. To my knowledge, Dansco has the most complete US Type Set book. Does anyone know if there exists a more complete type set book? My question to the forum is: how many of you would also be interested in a more complete album? if there is interest, perhaps we could start a letter campaign to Dansco In particular, I’d like to see a Dansco style type set book that included: 1/2¢: 1793, 1794-97 Liberty Cap 1¢; chain, wreath & Liberty Cap perhaps all three silver types 1/2 dime: flowing hair, draped bust (both small and heraldic eagles) 10¢: draped bust (both small and heraldic eagles); 1809-28 capped bust 25¢: draped bust (both small and heraldic eagles); 1815-28 capped bust 50¢: flowing hair, draped bust (both small and heraldic eagles) $1: flowing hair, draped bust (both small and heraldic eagles). I’m not sure about the Gobrecht $ Type I gold dollar, $3 gold to make a more complete gold page. While I highly doubt that I could ever afford the 1796 small eagle draped bust 25¢ and 50¢ coins, I’d like to try filling out the rest of the slots. One could also do all the earlier gold type coins, but that also is well beyond the budget of 97% (2 sigmas) of collectors.
