<p>[QUOTE=&quot;Boss, post: 408499, member: 15110&quot;]<b>Proofs in Dansco</b></p><p><br /></p><p>I have just removed the more valuable quarters from my Dansco album with slip cover always in use.&nbsp; For a short period I had my Dansco&#039;s in the safe without ziplocks being under the wrong impression :desk:that the ziplocks had PVC.&nbsp; Now all Dansco albums back in ziplock with dessicant, Reynolds Handyvac-vac sealed bags (comes with a little machine that sucks out the air) and new copper pennies surrounding to take oxidation hit (I remove these when they get ugly or tone).&nbsp; I have removed many of those quarters because of noted toning after about 6 months to one year in the albums.&nbsp; They toning is attractive, but I am not sure I want it.&nbsp; I think the toning occurred when they were out of the ziplock and I subsequently had purchased new shelves that were made of particle board and carpet.&nbsp; They smelled like new car smell <img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie4" alt=":mad:" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" />.&nbsp; So I can&#039;t be sure what the cause of toning was.&nbsp; I now have a room a/c installed, tons of dessicant, sealed my safe better with foam sealing the door.&nbsp; Not sure if I should buy Intercept album or put in air-tites or put in Intercept 2x2&#039;s?&nbsp; For now I put the expensive quarters (Choice BU and above) in Intercept 2x2&#039;s.&nbsp; And yes the proofs have toned and have that cloudy look (it varies though and some look fine).&nbsp; Humidity in safe is 45-50% and working to decrease with more dessicants.&nbsp; In the ziplocks the humidity is less as the dessicants never seem to turn &quot;pink&quot; forever so it has to be low humidity in there.&nbsp; Hope that helps.&nbsp; I myself am lost<img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie9" alt=":eek:" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" />.[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
