[QUOTE="samjimmy, post: 223937, member: 3813"]My original plan was to put together a date set of Silver Proof State quarters in a Dansco album (7146). Although I got the silver guard slipcover, I've come to the realization that the slipcover would probably do a better job of protecting regular silver coins, and this combination might not work for highly polished, mirrored silver proofs. -But that's a guess, can anyone say how well silver proof coins hold up in Dansco albums (with the slipcover)? I'm guessing the more probable use of this combination might be with Silver Eagle proofs (as opposed to the silver quarter proofs), and maybe that would give me an idea. Really any silver proof coin in a Dansco album actual experience would be helpful (not what anyone "thinks" will happen).

Plan B would be to try one of those Airtite albums. This would have more protection (due to the coins being in airtites and then put into the pages and then into the album), but I've never gotten one of these and don't know what the quality is (compared to regular albums like Danso, etc.). I suppose if one is looking for tarnish/tone protection (and to me there's no point in tarnished proofs, kinda kills the whole point IMHO), the airtite album is the best way, unless someone can say that the Dansco plan would be fine.

Pity I already have the Dansco album, but I suppose I could find a use for it.
