Here's my copper page. I've since filled all the holes. Is there a problem I didn't know about with that page? I don't pretend to know all the subtypes of coinage so if there's another type that should be there I don't know. I'll get a larger picture of that page. Interestingly enough there were two copper pages with the set when it came to me. Seems that some of the coins don't fit into the extra page well at all. Could this be the problem you are eluding to? If so, then I guess they fixed it with updated pages that they now include along with the old pages. There were two extra pages if my memory serves me correctly but I do not recall what the other page was, I'll take a look when I get home this evening.
The page was originally made with the hole for the braided hair large cent being too small. I wasn't aware of any replacement pages, but I'll do dome investigating
Dansco never set out to make a complete type set from the 7070; rather, they set out to make a mass marketable type set with the 7070. These are two very different things. If you want a much more complete type set album then you should buy the two part Whitman Classic type set album that contains holes for much tougher and more expensive coins. However, that album never sold well because of the coins required whereas the Dansco 7070 dominated the type set album niche. Why did they choose four commem slots and not so many Seated Liberty slots? Well, I think most collectors do not care about the 25 or so Seated Liberty design modifications and would rather not have an album that is one-half or one-third based upon the Seated Liberty design. Also, by having four commem slots the page might look more aesthetically pleasing with its symmetry to the half dollar row above it. Lastly, the commems are popular, relatively inexpensive, big and can be good looking, which taken all together is a strong selling point for the album. Remember, Dansco was not out to produce a complete album. They were out to produce a great seller.
I placed four comms in that I related to. I like civil war history so I have Gettysburg and the lincoln comm. if you don't like to place a comm in it place other half dollars in there that you like and that have eye appeal or mean something to you or leave them blank. I think it's a chance to personalize your collection
I like that commem, too. The 7070 used to have a page for Bicentennial coins and other modern coinage that included a slot for modern commem dollars.
For Whipps: Here are the two extra pages that were in one of my IS 7070. I actually have two of them and one came with two extra pages, the other did not. I didn't have any trouble fitting any of the coins in the pages that were in the book. I did think about filling the extra page that was sent along but I do recall that one of the coins didn't fit so these have just been here empty in my shelf. The one was the copper page as I remembered and the other that I couldn't remember was the commem page.
