I agree with the majority of the above. But if you really, really want to submit a let's say, lower grade coin/s, then don't moan and groan about the costs. Otherwise, the coin's value should justify the costs of submitting it. Doing this will prevent TPG'ers from dictating us to obey their rules. I have many coins that would grade MS65 or higher in my albums that I would never submit thus fragmenting a nice looking album, IMHO. ZEKE
Um, no, it would still be worth $~800, well above my sunk cost of $380 and the raw offer of $500. The point I believe you were trying to make would be better exemplified had you said "if it had come back in AU or a bodybag or (gasp) countefeit". The first two were extremely unlikely, and the third was a distinct possibility -- but I did have the coin reviewed in-hand by an expert before sending in....Mike p.s. Touche? Please.
Ah yes, the acclaimed RGS service, love them! It's the TPG where 70 isn't the top grade, to them it's a C- school grade subpar coin with problems. And the best part is their affordable weekly specials, just last month I took advantage of a "buy one at regular price, get the second one of equal value" deal, it's a bargain I tell ya! Them fellers is real nice
