    These were cut on the coins quite a while after the coins were struck! The boys were young and Septimius was alive when these were made.

    There are Consecration coins for Commodus by Septimius Severus and later by Trajan Decius. Damnatio seems to have been a matter of political opinion then just as it is now.

    My copy of this book, ordered Sunday evening, arrived from Spink in London today. That was fast! It looks great.
