Hi All, This was my response:-) LOL I copied and pasted it right from my email to him:-) I'm only a pain in the patoots, crochety, middle aged person for you guys and gals:-) he asked for advice about price and if he should sell it on eBay. He also wanted to know if I knew anyone interested in the coin. Hi XXXXXXX, The odds are that you will not be thrilled with my advice but it is what it is. Your coin is just a damaged cent. It has had the copper layer artificially removed. It can be done electrically, chemically or with heat. All three possibilities occur routinely as science experiments in high school. The cupping is also post Mint damage as there is nothing at the Mint that would cause it to the extent that you have it on your coin. The coin is not a Mint Error but a tampered with , damaged coin and I would remove it from eBay immediately so that you do not hurt your reputation as a seller. I do not know anyone interested in damaged coins. I am truly sorry to be the bearer of this news but the coin is only worth 1 cent. Thanks, Bill
