No. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe every coin issued by the U.S. mint must have a denomination. I think you should send the coin back to ICG for reholdering. You'll forget about that $35 long before you forget about the cracked slab.
I sent it to ICG this morning and I agree completely. What $35 dollars? lol! As for the denomination on each coin? I’m not sure if the US mint produces all Commemorative coins but some of those coins or medals are designed without denomination values.
I stand corrected. I've never seen those. I'm not much of a Mint guy, so I probably should have done some research before posting that.
It’s not a biggy. Coins like the one shown above are looked upon by coin collectors as bullion or medals. I own them because I admire them for what they are, small pieces of art and not their silver contents. Some look at them as a waste of money. I say, to each their own!
I've never purchased anything from the U.S. Mint or even visited their website. I had no clue they produce medals.
I find the coins or metals from the mint can be either reasonable or over priced. There are many for sale online. Most I believe, aren’t graded so if you want a graded coin or metal bullion with a grade, I’m not sure the mint is the place to look.
I’m happy to say, the dealer is sending a refund to cover the cost of a new slab and shipping. As I figured he would!
That’s great! You should give him positive feedback. It goes to show, if you don’t ask it’s an automatic no.
Nut, I gave him a positive comment two days ago. The guy has over 8000 positive comments with zero negatives which says a lot about the seller. I’ve sold antiques on eBay myself and know how hard it is to keep buyers satisfied and happy. It’s almost impossible.. btw, I didn’t ask for a refund. He just did the right thing..
