[QUOTE="Good Cents, post: 3645792, member: 100720"]I need to share this with someone and you guys are the only folks I know who may appreciate this. I just got my order in the mail of Custom Antiqued Silver Coins & Rounds by an eBay seller called “5ozSilver” and am completely blown away by their beauty. His Custom Antiquing brings out SO much of the artwork detail on these coins and gives it a depth that it never had before.

The Story: I was looking for something or other on eBay and came across this guy selling Custom Antiqued Coins & Rounds which he had Antiqued himself with his own method. I was curious and started browsing through some of what he was selling and thought I would give him a try. I really liked his work and we had a lot of good correspondence and I got the feeling that he was trustworthy. Yes, I could have been terribly wrong, but I’m usually pretty on target with my gut feelings about people. So I took a chance and mailed him some of my own coins and rounds to custom Antique for me for very reasonable prices. He sent me pictures of what they looked like before shipping them back to me but those pictures did not at all capture their beauty in person. They look SO much better than the pictures.

I feel like I’ve discovered this hidden treasure and want to share my find with others - “Hey everyone, look what I found! This is great!”

If you’re a Silver collector like me (as opposed to a Silver Investor) this is a nice way to enhance some of your collection. The depth that is added to the artwork of a Silver coin or round with this custom Antiquing is incredible and doesn’t compare to the mass produced antiqued rounds that mints sometimes issue. The mint-produced ones pale in comparison to these. It comes down to the difference between art that is mass produced VS hand-made. Some things benefit so much more from a human touch and attention to detail.

And speaking of attention to detail, he packages things very carefully when mailing them. He packs each coin/round in a brand new Air-Tite Brand capsule and packages them well so they are protected in shipping (I don’t know about you, but I hate getting broken or damaged things in the mail because someone couldn’t take the time or effort to package it well. I’ve even gotten coins and rounds in broken capsules from APMEX! It can be so frustrating.)

You would think I’m related to this guy or get commissions or something, or have some other conflict of interest. But I’m not and don’t – I’m not related to him, I don’t get commissions, I have no conflict of interest and I have never met or even spoken to him on the phone. I just like to share when I’ve found something good that I think others may like. And when someone does good work and I have a good experience with them, I like recommending them to others. (He has not actually asked me to recommend him to others, I’m doing this on my own.)

Below are pictures of the coins and rounds I sent to him that he Antiqued and then sent back to me.
