Some of you may remember this posting i made in this thread some about 6 weeks ago concerning an Ebay purchase of an 1844 dime, and the coin never showed up. Well, this story has taken a further, even more dissapointing turn. But first here is the original post again: Quote: Beware of these sellers: Seatedbustkeys and Classiccoingalleries -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have posted this before, but here again to let people know, and beware of the above two sellers if someone happens to come across them. Dont Bid !!!!!! it is a scam I bid on an 1844 dime ANACS Fine 12 in Ebay in an auction ending sunday May 11th. the coin was offered by Seatedbustkeys. A couple of days later i get a note from the seller saying he was not able to use his own paypal account, and he would send me the invoice via another account. Sure enough, the invoice came, this time under another sellers name Classiccoingallery of Niagara Falls NY. I should have stopped right there, and not paypalled the money!!! that was a mighty red flag, but being who i am, unsuspecting, well, i did go ahead. I never suspected a scam to rip me off. Beware of sellers with limited paypal coverage, and like has been said before, if they also have limited feedback (the seller had less than 15 if i remember correctly) If anybody has heard of them, please also let me know. Eduard END OF ORIGINAL POST. Well, while browsing thru another forum, i found this posting: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2667786#Post2667786. In this thread in this other forum, a seller by the name of SeatedCoinage is selling the EXACT SAME 1844 dime i had won in eBAY in May!!!.......How do i know this is MY coin? I kept pictures of the coin from the original Ebay listing (see attachment), and i am absolutely certain it is the exact same coin! So now i know, and have have confirmation of why the coin never arrived at my doorstep: It was never sent in the first place (which is what i had thought originally), even though the seller claimed that it was sent to the wrong address, wrong bidder etc...., This seller obviously listed the coin in Ebay in the first place with the obvious intent to deceive, and never send the goods. When he saw the bidder was far away overseas, this made it all the easier for him. Now he is selling the coin again! This is certainly the same seller. I think what really upsets me about this story, more than the financial loss ($ 415), is the fact and sad realization that there are such devious and crooked people out there. This may sound naive from my part, but that is the way that i perceive this. With regards to all, and may you never encounter such an experience, Eduard
