Sadly, I am afraid they had already sullied the collector market. Back when the state quarters came out, it was exciting. A whole new generation of coin collectors were born. But that wasn’t enough. They continued with quarter designs, a myriad of commemoratives…. On and on. The excitement turned to weariness among the true blue coin collectors and by the time they issued the West Point quarters, it was just another mint gimmick…..
