Well I would like to see some posts about currency too...even though I don't collect it that much I still pick up some pieces every now and then....

I found a RED seal $5 at the bank once and a $50 1950-E for face...I understand that it is worth more than $50 :D

About the only paper money I buy is the Silver Certificates..I would like to do a set someday.
I would also like to buy some bank notes from Kentucky but it hard to decide how much I'm willing to spend!

Actually Jody, I was hoping to tempt people to show more of that paper stuff, if you know what I mean. To love life is to live life and to live life is to respect it and all the beauty that it may behold.

I do have a few currency items and as with my coins most of them are Canadian.
There seems to be a lot more interest in Canada in serial numbers and one of my interests is "radar" numbers. Here is my only U.S. radar note. A 2 number radar like this if it were Canadian would be worth considerably more than I paid for this one.

Feel free to post pics of any currency here. I am sure that many of us would love to learn more about this area of numismatics.

Hi again everyone I thought I would show you a picture of my favorite foreign banknote. I never posted a picture before so I hope it works.

The note shown is a five peso note that was issued by Mexico in July 1970. Inflation hit not too long afterward and made it obsolete. I gave it a nickname in the early 1990's and promoted it well.

The "Gypsy Girl" note was produced by the American Banknote Company from engraved plates. The quality shows it. It has a nice intricate detail with raised elements due to the printing process. The portrait is of a real Gypsy girl. This is one of the notes that I fell in love with at first glance.

It's listed as P714a in the Picks book
It was selling for about $.50 in 1991 but current values put them at about $4.00-$5.00
