Hard to tell from the pic.. and impossible for me to differentiate between 67-68-69-70 unless the pics are very high quality...... that said, I think I see some chatter on the shoulder and some light rub (or flatness) on some of the details in the hair that would prevent this coin from making 68 or higher imo.... so I'll go with 67 also.
Outstanding example! When you get to the higher ranks of grading Memorial cents, it comes down to luster and eye appeal. For sure, not a doubt in my mind, this coin will grade a minimum of MS-67 based on the pictures. If the luster is just blazing and the eye appeal is great, it will definately have a shot at 68. Just submit it already! I get mine graded through my dealer for $25. Sometimes you just gotta roll the dice.
Lol, but it's one of those weird coins made out of copper . I saw this thread before and though it was a solid 67. I can't really see any hits, maybe a small one or two on Lincolns coat, and one one the Memorial column (first on left). Like BadThad said though a big factor is luster and eye appeal, especially with these high grades. So if it has really strong luster in hand I think it has a good chance at 68.
Admittedly, I would be very pleased if you were right and it comes back a 69, but honestly, I am thinking that a 68 is optimistic. Can anyone tell me the prices for 67, 68, and 69 again?
On Heritage the last 67 (NGC) sold for $50 on May 2nd 2010, the last PCGS 67 sold for $69 on March 28 2010. 68 (NGC) sold for $115 on May 9th 2010, last PCGS sold for $115 on February 16th 2010. I couldn't find any MS69 examples on Heritage. Search results for: 1995
On Heritage NGC only, no 69's, $120 for a 68, and $60 for a 67. FWIW, there are nearly 9,000 MS68's (NGC + P{CGS) and 19 69's.
