I had the opportunity to attend CSNS this past Thursday and Friday and scored three beautiful additions to my Classic Silver Commemoratives set. Thursday was a bit chaotic because I'd invited my son, sister, and dad along for the adventure. At four and a half years old, little dude lasted longer than I'd anticipated, but after ~45 minutes he was done. Vendors were all exceptionally nice and friendly - especially when he'd pick out bombshell coins and request I buy 'em; things like 32-S MS66 Washington quarter or an 1800's proof double eagle Friday, I had a chance to come back and revisit a few tables I'd noted the day before and wrapped up a few sales I'd wanted to ponder before buying. First, there is this spotless, white 1927 MS65 Vermont; thanks to Charleston Rare Coins: Next is this beautiful 1935 MS65 Connecticut thanks to Ken Byrd's Coins. Photo doesn't show any of the rich luster this coin retained under the russet and bronze toning: And lastly one of the white whales I was seeking this year, an astonishing 1935 MS64 Hudson, including a green CAC sticker. Big thanks to Jon from Scarsdale Coins for this one: Overall, as always, attending the show was an absolute blast!! I was on the look out for the 1928 Hawaiian and saw two of them, including one in proof condition -- I'd never seen a proof one before and didn't even bother asking the price. The PCGS line was quite long on Thursday - close to an hour. The gentleman waiting in line behind me and I concluded that it was busier than usual due to folks trying to get coins in for show grading before the cutoff maybe? Other attendees mentioned the crowded parking lots. I parked in the new adjacent 5-story parking garage both days. In both cases, it was mostly empty and conveniently connected to the hotel via bridge. I suggest folks keep that in mind for their next visit.
