    Just won this from Heritage Auctions, 2 hours ago!

    Crusader States/ Chios
    AV Zecchino ND Chios Mint 3,48g. 24mm.
    Struck for the Genoese Lords who ruled over Chios during period 1304-1461 when it was conquered by the Turks. The territory was originally seized by the Genoese Bennedetto Zaccharia in 1304. From 1382-1421 coinage was struck that imitated Venetian coinage. This coin imitates the AV Zecchino of Antonio Venier 1382-1400 lf (67).jpg lf (68).jpg

    Best thing, I managed to get it for a $380 bid. Usually, MS-63 hammered coins are not mint state, this one has nice lustre, no wear. This was an interesting time in history.

    What a gem. Interesting historical period indeed. That was just after the peak of the black plague and just before the start of the Renaissance.
