Croatia - 2 KUNE - Tuna & Marten

    Hi all,
    Found this in the street after work this evening.
    Croatia 2 Kune - 2013

    The marten makes sense as that is their currency. :) The Croatian word "kuna" means "marten", and the small unit "lipa" means lime/linden. Thus all the lipa coins have linden leaves on the side with the face value, and all the kuna coins have that marten. What is also nice is that the plant or animal names are in Croatian (odd years) and Latin (even years) ...

    Yes, a neat coin
    I've been visiting Croatia a few years ago, a very nice and friendly country, and was able to put together some of their coins. The latin legend denominations seem a bit scarcer though.
