Craigslist Gold Prices- Ancient Looking Coin as Well!

It's amazing to surf on CL and see some of the ads, here's two in my area!! Here's a seller who doesn't appear to know much about gold at all! The gold coin is only 22k not 24k at all. Talk about price gouging! Lastly, there's some kind of ancient looking coin, is it even real!!

The coin looks to be a copy of an Athens Tetradrachm.

 

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if the chain is fake as well! It's amazing how some sellers on CL are complete dummies and they think everyone reading their ad is more stupid than they are!

 

From that picture, the only clue I would have that it is fake is the roundness of the holder. Most Athenian tets are not very round, and are extremely thick.

Edit: I take that back. Blowing it up shows other guveaways...

That's fine, there's plenty of other holes where they will!

 

My favorite recent one in my area is a guy asking $30 for a 1942 dime. I called him up and told him it was worth about 20X face. He then asked me how much I would give him and when I answered $2, he kind of huffed and hung up.

 

Oh he should be on ebay with the rest of the know nothings on there!
