What's that bulge to the right of the III? Nice 3¢ by the way. I'd say VF to VF+.

 

The bulge is part of the die crack. Only it's a break in the die or a piece out of the die. It shows up as the opposite on the coin or raised metal.

 

Very interesting. Something tells me that die didn't get used too much longer.

 

The only coin with a bigger or more die cracks is my Broas Pie Bakers CWT . Definitely the biggest I've seen on a small US coin .

Cracks on a steel cent. Is this common on these? I've never seen one. Also a chip on the T in CENT.

Well, when I clicked on this thread I was expecting pictures of some 21 morgans. I was tricked!

Nice 3 center. I have an 81 with a "pre" cud in that same area but yours is much more advanced

 

Here's one of my favorite tokens with die cracks and clashes .

 

Those cracks are too subtle for me.

 

Shoot Rusty, what were they doing? Waterboarding that token?
