Upon seeing this one, I liked the idea of acquiring a “new world” era Spanish-American coin that was countermarked. Sure, it’s rather slick and holed, but I was able to figure out its details. It was labeled as a British coin. Not perfectly round, with an average diameter of about 28.6mm. Weighs in at 5.6g. Countermarks are a 2 and what looks like JR or maybe more likely JB. Any thoughts on the countermarks or the coin in general?
Not a British coin IMHO , to me stamping looks more like chop marks but someone here will be able to attribute it.
The actual make/model is in the title of the post. I was just pointing out that it was labeled (incorrectly) as a British coin by the seller.
