counterfeit advice

    I love contemporary counterfeits. They are real history in somne cases (WWII pound note forgeries, etc.).

    The 1944 nickel was just one guy trying to make a buck. He would have succeeeded if it were not ror the piaring of a 1944 obverse with a non-war reverse. He made small money on each coin but could have made that small monery a million times over. Slow and steady wins the race....

    If some counterfeiter is making coins just for you to buy, then I would say don't buy them as you are helping to create the problem. But older fakes are not impacted by modern collectors.

    Besides, I look at it this way...every fale youtake out of circulation is one less forgery that is diminishing the legitimate money supply.
