Counterfeit 1885 Carson City Morgan

    The date itself is a giveaway, looks like a 5 year old wrote it. But also mushy details, and grainy surface.
    Uneven wear from observe to reverse and the tell all hit on the upper left of the reverse breast of the eagle.

    Could we get a couple reports and this taken down?

    I can’t tell from the pictures if it’s a counterfeit, but it has been harshly cleaned.

    Yeah, the stars are lucky charmed. The E is missing the top. The 8's are flat on the bottom. Nice catch.

    Too bad you didn’t post a picture. It helps to get the word out there because when there’s one, there’s bound to be more. The “orange hoodie picture” doesn’t help us.
