In a 3rd party slab to boot with knock off graphics. Has the telltale hit on the reverse eagle breast https://www.ebay.com/itm/375083176819?
It's still against eBay policy, and a violation of the Hobby Protection Act. His big lot of fake trash went so cheap that it's probably undercutting the original suppliers. If we could somehow guarantee that everybody trading in these lost money on the deal, I wouldn't be so ticked off about them.
Oh, and for anyone who's thinking "they're being sold as fakes, so there's nothing dishonest here": https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1922-peace-dollar-question.408939/
"nothing dishonest" until the buyer sell it off to someone else ... it's like the tons of Chinese fakes from 6+ years ago before they had to put "COPY" on it. ... didn't hurt anyone on the initial sale. Subsequent sales though ....
It’s unfortunate that we have to deal with this as collectors, it’s hard to trust what is real and what is fake
I probably cannot say this… but I have the real ones lol and cannot even think of going to EBay to sell or buy!
You just have to buy from a reputable seller allot of GOLD and bullion dealers are on there, I really like liberty coin galleries in Huntington Beach, always the best prices and prompt shipping.
Thank you. I have not bought anything. But I do look to compare prices. Going to try to sell some of my friend’s grandfather’s coins they had found. I mean so coins look over cleaned etc. I have not touched anything. Mine or my friends. I guess I should or just let it be? It is sad that some take advantage of people. It’s in everything these days. Just have to be careful and aware!
