Lets say the mint decides to release the 2012 reverse proof in a different set a few weeks after the return time expires on the 75th anniversary set, could you have your credit card force a refund since the mint mislead about the set?

I doubt it would be an easy process. You could complain to the mint and see if they will let you return it past the date in which they set for returns. If you talk to the right people at the mints customer service, you could probably talk your way into a return.

I have worked my way up the ladder at the mint and eventually got to a guy who could bend the rules when the mint ere in the wrong. So if you were willing to spend the time the mint would do it, but it is a hassle

Agreed. They're collector coins, not speculator coins. I think the OP has been misled about the hobby in general.

Highly unlikely since a large majority of these sets are set to ship at the end of October.

Nothing. Not like the mint is forcing people to buy their products. ;)

Show the mint that you mean business! Keep returning those puppies! Let's get that final mintage down to 100K.

I doubt it. YOu ordered the product, you paid for the product, you received the product. The most you could or should really do is attempt a refund to the mint or sell it on the secondary market.

Yep. Don't go whining and reporting them. Just man up and admit they got the best of you.

Technically, I think they imply they won't sell the RP in other ways when they say "A special feature of this elegant two-coin set is the coin featuring a “reverse proof” finish." Notice they didn't use that language with the S.

How did the Mint mislead anyone?

    More information is needed here.

Buyers remorse is not a valid excuse to refute the charge. Caveat emptor. Take responsibility for your own actions and purchases. Geeze.

From a legal perspective, a credit card charge back does not free the purchaser from the obligation to pay a bill. That is dictated by laws and the courts. There are numerous cases where someone managed to get a charge back and then later was sued for pay the bill. While i don't think the mint would do this, it probably means they won't do business with you again.
