Copper pennies worth hoarding?

Ive been just stashing these away in little bags if I come across them. The value of copper is meaningless until you get to the pounds, so are these worth saving at all?

Depends on your opportunity cost of saving said pennies. If you could use them to buy $10 face in silver for $20, then the pennies probably are a bag thing to hold onto.

Sure why not. I collect all the copper pennies I find. You'll get different responses from others but it's really a your choice.:D

I was putting them aside but really it takes a lot of copper to be worth it. So I sort of lost interest in it. I really don't want hundreds of pounds of pennies...it's too impractical for me being active duty where a couple pounds of silver or gold is so much easier to deal with (not that I have pounds of gold or silver either!).

You are not the only one stashing away these coins. The problem is that the price of copper is irrelevant until they lift the ban on melting them.

If you like it, and have the room to do so, hoard 'em!

I stash them aside. I've sold some off and gotten 150-300% face value. If you're searching pennies anyways, it makes sense to set them aside, I think.
