Here's a good one for comparison.....

I believe this one weighed 3.2 gr, but not sure.

This could be improperly Annealed to where the copper core is showing color though ...

You need to create your own thread with pictures.
Most likely Environmental Damage. We see dozens of Quarters with the same question here on CoinTalk.
    Worth.. 25 Cents

I missed this post! That's your error? I alwayd wanted to see both clad layers missing. Can you post the label?

It's mine. Next time I'm at the SDB, I'll snap a picture.

From my perspective, of course I'm biased, it is THE example of the type.

Not great, but I do have an old one:

    StruckOnCore.jpg

Obviously, my recollection of the weight was off.

    Both of these quarters are not errors;
they have enviornmental damage to the
    surfaces.

The thinner one probably has had the
rims tapped down a bit from circulation
or whoever played around with it.

Neither of them are missing one or both
outer clad layers, and neither one of them
are on different or foreign planchets.

What you see is what happens to coins in
    circulation.

Hi I got this coin and it’s seems to be missing a layer of material on both sides , when I weight it , it was much lighter . It feel weak and not solid . It’s a 2011 Tennessee quarter. It’s not corroded . Does any one know more on this coin ?

Environmental Damage.. Your Quarter was exposed to the elements. Missing clad layer usually happens just on one side of a Quarter.

It looks to fall under said "environmental damage". What does it weigh?
