John,

You can be silly because that is a nice Error coin in anyone's book! You actually have two errors on one coin...although the secondary is minor...it only boosts the already awesome error on the coin. What you have is a "Double Struck in Collar" Lincoln Cent that also has a minor mis-aligned Obverse Die or MAD. Now the mis-aligned Obverse Die means very little but by the coin being a "Double Struck in Collar" Error, it should fetch close to $150 or more. However, with the right (great) write-up and great pics, the coin could fetch quite a bit more on a good day, plus the MAD Error should only help boost it's potential value. It would be great if the coin was certified, graded and attributed by PCGS or NGC but the costs for the services would not be cost/return effective and due to being circulated and with some slight damage and corrosion or carbon spotting, they would probably return the coin bodybagged. Therefore, if you decide to sell the coin, then a really great write-up and great pics should go far in garnering the best possible price for the coin, making sure to note the MAD Error as well and that the second strike is about 110 degrees rotated! If you decide to offer the coin up for sale or auction, I would ask $150 to $200 for it but at auction, I would start it at $1.00 with at least a $125 Reserve Price. Now, I am sure that others have and will give their different opinions as to the value of the coin. So, don't go on my recommendation alone! You should rely on a concensus of opinions on the best way to sell the coin and what possible price that it will fetch, to minimize any costs that you will incur to sell it and maximize your' return.

Good luck!

Frank
