Posted here so we can have U.S. and world coins jumbled together. There are coins that are really cool that you aren't actively trying to get rid of but you just don't love anymore. I'll start with 17th century Spanish Netherlands and I don't know why I got them. I do like a backwards "N" on a coin.
I love the odd denominations for a time and put together full sets of proof two cent and three cent nickels. This used to be the prize of my collection, but now I barely look at them anymore. Not sure why, but once I complete a collection, I just get bored of the series. Maybe it's because I sometimes spend a few years putting the set together and I learn just about everything about them. I'm sure there's more to learn, but I get tired of them and move on. I haven't even looked at my proof liberty nickel set since I put the final coin (1884) in the box.
I'm going to set up a showcase as soon as I get a camera worth a salt. But in the meantime a little teaser. This 1892 is only a PR-64, but the rich golden toning makes this my favorite in the set.
