I do my family history. And have to say, reluctantly, because no one would like to have this, but I have found out in the past dozen or so years that I had one (at the very least) Nazi in my extended family. This was due to the fact that with some of my heritage coming from Germany in the first half of the 20th century, some of my fairly close relations were still in Germany in the late 20s thru 40s and they coopted into the societal pressure cooker that was then (I am thinking of it in a way that if you weren't Jewish there, for the most part, at least at first, you made choices to perhaps survive and thrive or just to get by or not be picked on or try to fit in, or you weren't opposing it because of varying reasons) and there were youth programs that people had to send their kids to where those kids were further indoctrinated into the regime's ideals (these were camps and youth groups). And from what I understand from a small talk with another relation who knew this person well, this one fell into the regimes' ideals pretty hard, but perhaps (my thoughts at this time in the future, not knowing him or nothing, but knowing how teens do want to conform or perhaps get ahead) it was more that this guy was simply of an age that he would want to fit in and also think he was very smart. Think of recent events here in the US and around the world where people of varying ages have been and are still doing things that 50 years ago would have been unthinkable, all because there has been a large societal pressure cooker of another kind happening. So....

Not glorifying the Nazi age and I don't on my own want to collect any memorabilia, coins or otherwise that are only to remember that and have no other significance. I might have a couple of things (nothing I'm calling up right offhand to give an example) from that era, but I think that most of that era (Nazi stuff) should be in the trash, that although it is 'historical' it is not something that should be retained, with few exceptions. I do always account for having something that would be 'Nazi' history, including coinage, that would be worth saving or part of a collection, but in the general, no.
