A great guy from this group sold me some coins for my children (who are starting to get interested in coins!). One of them was a nice-looking "love token" Made from a seated Liberty dime. He threw in a few old, worn coins for fun, and I was wondering if anyone here had ever tried making their own jewelry from coins?

There is an old Flying Eagle with almost nothing visible anymore, so it'd be great to practice on.

    I'm thinking I need to:

    1) find a way to smooth it, then polish it
    2) find a "fancy letter alphabet" template
    3) go to work with my Dremel

I'm sure I could pay a local jeweler or artsy person, but where's the fun in that!

    Thoughts? Advice?

Such a coincidence that you made this thread. Just yesterday I was watching videos on how to make rings out of coins.
This guy made a beautiful ring:

I found a 1967-P half dollar with a hole drilled in the top in the till at work. I bought a cheapo chain and for about $1.50 I have a really cool silver necklace.
