My primary collecting focus is in Ancients, mostly Roman but with some Greek and other empires thrown in. I've also started going after English/British coins from Celtic through Queen Victoria. I love the coins, but the real joy that I get out of the hobby is developing guides to the histories and using the coins as interesting physical/visual references to those histories. My plan is to start with the first coins (Archaic Greek) and develop a continuous story through Classical and Hellenistic Greek, Roman Empire, Byzantine/Dark Age Europe, England/British Empire, and finally the US. (an American perspective of world history through coins) The Presidential dollars seem to be the no-brainer option if I'm just wanting physical references to chapters in American history, so I'd like to get them all. As of now, I'm shooting for all of the coins in NGC PF 70 Ultra Cameo. In my limited research of previous sales, it seems as though each of the coins can be had for $15 - $20 each if patiently buying piecemeal (mostly Ebay auctions). I enjoy the "pursuit" activities associated with obtaining coins for my other collections. But when it comes to these coins, I'd much prefer to buy the whole (or as many as possible) collection in one go instead of seeking them out 1 by 1. Are any of you aware of a source (website or individual) that might help provide the route that I'm looking for? Thanks!
