Hi All I have been doing some research on the contorniate medallions, and I have encountered a reference that I have been unable to track down. I greatly hope that the kind members of the CoinTalk forum will be able to help. Alfoldi & Alfoldi - Die Kontorniat-Medaillons (Berlin, 1976) makes several references to 'Rollin-Feuardent 1925, Renesse' followed by a lot(?) number. Sabatier - Description Generale Des Medaillons Contorniates (Paris 1860) also refers to specimens in the collection of 'M. le comte de Rennasse' - presumably the same collection. Rollin and Feuardent sales no longer took place by 1925, as Rollin had died several years earlier, and the only sale that took place that year was as Feuardent Frères, the successors to Rollin and Feuardent. However, the Rollin and Feuardent publishing business was still functioning under the same name, and were responsible for the publication of the Numismatic Chronicle for 1925. So, I presume that this collection must have been published as a monograph or brochure, rather than as an auction catalogue. I have been unable to find any trace of this work, either through Google or Gallica (BnF). I would be very grateful if someone could help me to find the full reference for this important collection, and possibly help me find a copy online. I would be very grateful Many thanks in anticipation Paul
