May I just ask, As a child of '95, What are Pogs?

Pogs is a game kinda like marbles. They are little discs. You stack them on top of each other and then you have a slammer. You throw it down and then... anyway it's kinda boring, but the pogs are cool looking. They have thousands of designs on them.

 

Oh man, no begging. Just kidding of course. This is one of the best contests ever!! Even if I don't win it's still the coolest contest ever!! Good luck all and thanks again to flyers10!! :hail:

 

Great contest. I could not make it because of that fact that I am a high school student and by the time i got home at 4pm, I could not get on the site due to the high volume of requests. I can't afford to pay $700 and upwards on a single set and was going to use birthday money to buy myself a set and you might have seen me rtanting on another post about how mad I was how some people bought 10 sets or more and I couldn't even get one. It still ****es me off but thats just life, not everything is going to work out. Good luck to everyone!

Hey Duke. It started a few days ago and ends Friday. Hopefully I didn't end the contest too soon.

 

The mint is still shipping coins out and there are many orders still open. I would suggest adding one week, the 25th of the month, to the duration. You have people also concentrating on, and at, the Baltimore convention who many want to participate.

 

POG is a drink they serve on Hawaiian Air flights. It's Passion-Orange-Guava drink. I'm not sure if there's enough juice in it to qualify as a juice... it's kind of like a punch, but with some pulpiness to it.

Pogs is a misnomer. These were cardboard discs that were designed to replicate old milk bottle caps (with the pull tabs). I think the funniest use of the discs are the AAFES 25-cent gift certificates.

Caz, What I recall of Pogs is that people liked to COLLECT them; they had everything you can imagine on them. Sort of like collecting baseball cards.. Ones that come to my mind had "Pikachu" on them. Personally, I never owned one or had any. Nope, but I DID do the Beanie thing...
I bet there are some pogs on ebay..

well i would like to enter the contest. I dont live stateside anymore. Post retirement things are tough and to get any coins I have to depend on my friend in the US. He tried to log on to the us mint site and place an order but he wasnt successful. I can do little but be a mute spectator. The mint does not take PayPal and does not ship to my country. i dont know if i am eligible for this contest but if I am and I win, I would request that my set be mailed to my friend stateside so he can ship it on to me.

Even if i am not eligible i think its great that you have given people a platform and an opportunity that was denied by the US mint. Thanks a lot.
