Flyer, thanks again for the contest. I never even tried to buy a set because of being a victim of a recent layoff. I would still like to be considered in the contest though, I can do without food for a few days to come up with with the money, they don't call me Bonbonbelly for nothing!

I'll loan you the money, with the set posted as collateral. We can set up some pawn type payment plan... say $30 a month for a year. That should make it sufficient to cover the shipping to get the coins to you once it's paid off.

This is an awesome contest! Thanks a million for the opportunity flyers10! I don't have much of a story to tell at all, but I'll hope and pray for some luck! I wish I had an elaborate story to tell about trying to get online or struggling on the phone for hours on end but that's not what happened to me at all. In fact I was so busy with work I completely forgot about the set until late at night. By that time the Mint was sold out. I wish I would have taken that day off work just so I would have remembered the date but that's not the way it happened. Guess I'm getting a bit older and now it's time for me to start writing stuff down so I remember. Anyways, thanks again for the chance, this is one of the best contests ever!!! :thumb::thumb:

I would love to have a chance at this. i order the set from the us mint early but due to the large orders they sent me a letter stating they would need to cancel my order and then cancel it. i have been collecting since i was a 13 , and im 33 now . and am getting ready to have my first child a girl Caitlynn jean . me & my wife got married in April and we where looking for something to commemorate our love. when i heard about the 25th silver eagle anniversary set i was like that's it. collecting coins is a joy i love it.. and when i found out we were having a baby in june of this year i was like excited, i said she has to have the coolest gifts for her birth year in December this is going to be born. and i wanted to get the 25this eagle set to commemorate her birth. i cant afford to spend 800 dollars im the only one working in the family. i probably never will get one for Caitlin cause its really expensive. i like to thank you for this contest its totally cool. i will never sell any coins i believe if i had the set it would be a treasure to our family unlike any other...

 

IT's OFFICIAL, no set....
Just spoke with the Mint, they indeed cancelled both orders (the computer system generated 2 different order numbers due to "too many refreshes") and my transaction was flagged for duplicate orders, I called to notify and the Mint cancelled the wrong order, however they took responsibility for the mishap and put me on the non-existent waiting list.... Ethically I guess that's good.

I would absolutely love this 25th Aniversary set for such a reasonable price. On the other-hand I just don't see myself spending 700 on ebay for it. The one thing I can tell you is that I am a collector. A true collector, as in I do not sell anything. From the time I was 5, I have collected coins, basball,football,basketball cards, sports memorabillia, arrowheads, pogs, frisbees, just about everything. One time in my life I was hard for cash and parted ways with my yogi berra baseball card, and felt bad about it for weeks. A month later, I bought a replacement. If I win this contest, I will promptly pay via paypal, and this be a show piece to my coin collection. I will also try to return the favor by posting another contest, kind of like a pay it forward. Look forward to the drawing.
