Nice, Sharp Details on this LRB :thumb: Is the metal behind the head on the obverse (I think, the one without the Constantine II's head) raised?
Nice details. An interesting coin with alot of eye appeal. I really can't comment further as I don't really follow this series, but the thread made for a very interesting read. Don't worry Bing, I like your coin if this were the old days, it would certainly command a five fruit salute.
Jw, you sure know how to find them, i'll bet you got a good deal to, the coin has great details, great pick up...:thumb:
Thanks John and Anoob, and all the others for the comments. I think I got a fair deal on this con. The seller had it at auction starting at $45. Offered $35. We settled on $40.
Just call me the "Burglar Baggins". Yeah JA, I think I got a good deal. This seller had some other excellent coins for sale, but I just had to contain myself. He had a Constantius II with a similar reverse. It was in about the same condition but got a lot of attention at auction. I had to pass on it. He also had a FH to die for, but I don't think it sold.
You guys keep showing me falling horsemen and everytime I think I like them a little more. I have a number of them floating around my house, but none as nice as that one. I could see myself getting a really nice one. As well as one of those nice Constantine I city commemoratives. I love all the details on that coin.
Yah, I don't have a Fallen Horsemen ... I have a few on my wish-list, but when it comes time to pullin' the ol' trigger, some other coin always seems to knock them outta the chamber!! (one of these days)
Thanks everybody, I've got twenty five uncleaned in delivery right now. If I find anything interesting I'll post pics.
To fit properly in your collection, you need a really perfect FH, probably Antioch mint with finest style, and certainly costing as much as you pay on average for your other coins (at least over $100). I've not seen you showing interests in minute details, scarce mintmarks and the like so your want list entry for this should be 'when it becomes available' rather than 'what I'll buy next'. On average I don't see more than one perfect specimen a year. FH coins are as common as dirt; perfect ones are not.
Thanks for the info/skinny Doug ... => yah, chances are good that I'll e-mail you an example if and when I think that I've found a winner (hopefully, you'll be in a great mood and help me out?!!) .... oh, and thanks for all of your help, to date!! (you rock!!) :high5:
