Hello, I got this coin and noticed the error right away. The "Li" is missing in Liberty and most of United in missing or faint.
Has anybody else seen this error. What might it be worth?
    Thank you!

Nice find. :) It's a "struck through grease" error. What happens is that some grease gets into the die where the letters were and clogs it up for a bit. With the grease occupying the die, metal can't flow into it, so those details don't get struck up.

Not much premium as far as I know, but it'll be worth a ton as a conversation piece (or as a gift to someone named Berty, lol).

Is it possible to get clearer photos of both sides of the coin out of the holder?

Do you think it's something other than or in addition to a struck through grease error?

I really don't know. The recessed ring in front of the bust, made me think possible clash, but it doesn't line up with details on the reverse, but when I looked at the reverse photo, there are strange things going on there too.

Yes, I did notice that on the reverse. I try to get some clearer pictures.
    Thanks!

These are a bit clearer. I can see an extra thin line around the edge depending on the light. The bottom edge thickness seems slightly larger than the top. Not sure if these are significant.

It appears that what I was seeing was on the holder as I suspected. But the is one thing that did show up in the last photos, that wasn't apparent in the first, that being a major die crack.

That's interesting. Is it the line going from the bottom of the bust through the E and R to the bottom?

Yep! Raised elements on a coin are recessed in the die. Raised lines that aren't supposed to be there are caused by die cracks. It's a pretty cool crack, but die cracks in general are so common they don't add value to the coin.

Are you sure it isn't a PFC die crack?

You may be right. I'm not seeing a star.
