Confederate Cent Restrike

    The dies on your coin are modern, based on the original design but lower quality and somewhat crude. Bashlow restrikes are available but a little costly (they used to be cheap). Much tougher are the Haseltine restrikes, and almost impossible the Lovett originals.. They have probably been sold a couple more times recently but the only sale I can recall recently for the Haseltine restrikes and an original was in the John J Ford Collection.

    Sorry to say, your piece is a copy. Whomever struck it put his mark under the "T" on the reverse. :(
