So recently I just bought this Alexandrian tetradrachm of Nero which I thought had a great portrait with an appropriately dour, angry expression (almost foreshadowing Caracalla) for someone who's often described as one of the worst emperors in Roman history.

Nero

Bi Tetradrachm

10.50 grams

Alexandria mint

Year 11 (64-65 AD)

Obverse: Radiate bust, wearing aegis

Reverse: Diademed, veiled and draped bust of Hera Argeia

Emmett 122

VF, Toned.

Porous, as expected. I just recently got a heavily worn Antioch bronze of Otho from a multiple coin lot so that's 7 down and 5 to go covering Galba, Vitellius and the Flavians. I don't have the budget to cover all the emperors in a single denomination like denarii or anything like that so it's a silver/base metal mix of both imperials/provincials (it's nice to have a variety of different types of coins in my collection anyway to cover the breadth of ancient currency) and for Julius Caesar I had to resort to a posthumous coin (half of one anyway) which at least had his portrait on it. I started putting this together last year and it's been very fun to assemble so far!
