The token below played a big part of the Cuban Railway that runs from the most western province Guane to the most eastern bay of Guantanamo. In 1834 the regent Queen of Spain Maria Christina of the 2 Cicily's ordered the first lines to be built. In 1836 Gaspar Betancourt Cisneros established a horse drawn railway service called Ferrocarril de Camagüey a Nuevitas in Camagüey (Puerto Príncipe). It wasn't until 1837 that the first steam railway was built 27.5 Km, from Habana towards Guines. And in 39 The extension made it to Guines. By 1843 the railway made it to San Felipe and Batabano in the east. As the rail lines made it east they all fought for control of the sugar fields and control of tariffs in the territory around Guanabana this forced passengers to travel on foot and freight to be loaded on pack animals to get to the next relay station. Compania del Ferro-Carril is known back to 1857, the company provided a service of rail to steam ship connecting Cuba to 5 destinations in the US 1 in Canada and Vera Cruz Mexico. The Bahia station is to the east of the Habana harbor. Habana 1881, Campania del FerroCarril de la Bahia, White metal, 3g, 20.5 MM. Interesting token. There's a huge difference in the pronunciation with the word Compañia to the way you spelled it in the title, Compania Ñ vs N
It's ok. It's just the pronunciation. Compañia means Company Compania translates to absolutely nothing at all. Language translation especially between English and Spanish is something that really fascinates me. I love word origins and meanings.
