the 2 dollar bear in the egg presentation case was superb and i humbly believe the best $2 design. of course the titanic was a smash hit too
if you refer to KM you will always end up taking your words back  BTW i didnt know you minted 50p coins at home too
Was that the one made of gold and silver? I almost snagged one of those on eBay last month... The auction made no mention of the metal content, but another bidder was in the know and wanted it more then I did. Are you talking about the Maple Leaf bullion coin with the Titanic stamp? Personally I never really saw the appeal of those... they're just the same as all the other Maple Leaves in the world minus the stamp, aren't they? By the way, I finally got those paisa rolls in the mail today... I'm going to revive that thread at some point over the weekend, so keep an eye out.
yeah PM me so i will know that got put up. BTW the reverse proof with the titanic was something else easily my fav silver bullion coin
I finally got this coin in last week, and all I can say is WOW... The fields are mirror-like and there is cameo appearence to the non-field areas. Not sure why the image makes the fields look they're all scratched up, because they are flawless. I'll take some new pics and post them real soon.
Hopefully this pic is better then the first, but I'm still getting that scratchy look on the fields... Honestly, you can't notice it with the coin in hand. It almost looks like dust in the picture. Could it be some kind of residue?
Just realized something else about this coin... I'm pretty sure it's aluminium! According to the book I'm reading, the 10 Paise coin was cupro-nickel from 57 to 67, and aluminum after that. I'll have to weigh it when I get home from work...
My bad... it's not aluminum. It's 5.3 grams which is .3 grams more then the info I have, but my scales may be off a little.
