Even when they were issued the commems were not well received by the public. Often they ended up almost giving them away, in fact sometimes they couldn&#039;t even do that. Price wise commems have long been considered the problem child of the coin market. This segment of the market has pretty much continually been in the doldrums. Today they are priced pretty much where they were in 1996.</p><p><br /></p><p>As for the surge in the &#039;80s that has been mentioned, you have to keep in mind that during the &#039;80s the entire coin market across the board experienced that surge, and I mean everything.
