    According to the latest issue of Coin World, the colorized basketball coins will be a reality. The following sums up my feelings about the U.S. Mint....

    Colored coins are unattractive to me.

    Of course the US Mint could examine internet coin boards which discuss "Artificial Toning" and apply those methods to the silver coins.

    They missed an opportunity for a bimetallic coin with a copper basketball.

    That's what I wanted to know! No idea. They think the coin was tampered with.

    I've never seen a coin with that designation on the holder. The coin looks good to me, natural in appearance.
    MS-60 details? What were they thinking?

    @Collecting Nut-

    Yes, it looked natural to me as well. I had never touched it. It was in a Whitman folder for years, since the 60's. Can't say where it was before that. The coin itself, isn't/wasn't really worth getting graded. I needed another coin, to make the 10 coin ANACS special. So I throw that one in.

    I wonder what the guy who graded mine would say about this one?? :hilarious::hilarious:

    It's not mine BTW..

    AT, maybe even going so far as to state forced toning.

    The new design for the silver eagle - add red/white/blue on obverse only. Quite a few countries including Canada have already done it. And one time only, such as the 35th year (2021). Perhaps a small U.S. flag could be added and that would be what is colorized. Hopefully it wouldn't be too tacky.
