Hello everyone.. I haven't seen a coin with this coloring type. Looks like it was rubbed on the obverse and maybe treated on the reverse so my question is, is this color okay ( for a lack of a better word ) and what grade do you think it is . Follow up question If this coin is "normal/okay" what is a fare price to pay ?

Thanks in advance guys and girls

I believe the coin has been worked on and will not straight grade. I would pass on the coin.

If it's really that shiny I suspect it's been coated with something.

Cleaned and damaged. It will not grade.

Agree with all of the above. However, it still has value for what it is. No more than fifty, and that would be generous. I've seen much worse sell for more.

I think that was cleaned and inexpertly re-colored.

Most of the half cent varieties, that were made for circulation (NOT the Proof only dates, which are rare) come high grades. It is rare to see one in less than VF. Finding another example of these date, with this much sharpness, is not unusual.

Concur with johnmilton. It's a common date, about XF sharpness, but cleaned, so worth significantly less. As there's not much aof a grade premium on these until you get to UNC, you could get one that's original for not much more money.
