Exactly, though I have seen many lower valued coins certified, possibly due to bulk submissions.
And just because something is old, that doesn't make it valuable. Numerous times someone will show me a beat up common date Morgan and say, it's over a 100 years old. And I tell them, you'll be lucky to get $30 for it.
Now I will admit, I have had some lower priced coins graded for several reasons. One, I paid very little for some of them, two I like slabbed coins, three, they'll be easier to sell when the time comes!

There is a PCGS dealer in Shreveport LA. The ones I have questions, if I’m in or when I’m in that area I may stop by. Questions of course.

And my budget! I recognize the importance of a graded coin, and I certainly don't want a counterfeit, but I prefer non graded. So, I'm very selective in my purchase of a coin. But, coin collecting is a hobby for me so I really haven't purchased any "high dollar" coins. The more expensive coins I have, I've obtained from reputable dealers. And, a few have been slabbed. Some I've broken out and some I didn't. If I was making a major purchase, it would be graded.
