I wish I'd had more money for that sale the stuff I really collect wasn't there (early copper and colonials) or was so far out of my league (early silver dollars) so I bought a few nice upgrades for my type set and a cc Morgan for my collection of those there were many stunning seated and bust coins I'd have loved to buy and I'm kicking myself for not going one more on a f-15 1805 quarter I was the underbidder at $1400 but I've shot big on a few coins already this year most notably a 1795 flowing hair dollar in vf-30 so I'm going to wait and save some money to try to shoot on something else major (hopefully a chain cent or a nice oak tree or pine tree or another early dollar )
I know what you mean Bill. I had just won two coins at the Stack's auction the week before the Newman live auction commenced. I had to pare back what I was willing to spend and only came away with 2 coins. I paid a big premium on the '35 Buff and felt I got a good deal on the 1892 Columbus commem. I can't wait to see what's available in Part III. My challenge will be to pick out only one coin and make sure I acquire it. There were so many beautiful coins in Part II that I was like a kid in a candy store!
Part 3 is world coins which don't have any interest to me I know he has a great collection of colonials and found out from a friend who knows Eric Newman that he has a lot of great early Americana too which I deal in I guess he's a wicked nice guy too according to my friend I'm really looking for something great tho I'm not sure what'll be next depends on what shows up there's a lot I want I saw the 2 you got their both really nice!!
