The knowledge of the members on the NGC forum is on par with that on CU but the membership is smaller and the traffic and activity is rather slow. That was the main reason that I joined the Cointalk community.</p><p><br /></p><p>While this forum is much friendlier and inviting to newbies, it is not immune to problems. There seems to be a significant anti TPG sentiment among some of the members on this site that turns off the CU and NGC members from joining. While CTers complain about the CU's intolerance for newbies, they could easily make the same complaint about plastic bashing here. The fact that coins are encapsulated by a TPG does not automatically mean that the collector of TPG graded material does not appreciate coins.</p><p><br /></p><p>I think that the TOTW feature here gives incentive to members to make meaningul posts that provide interesting and educational threads about all areas of numismatics.
