H.T, if i may ask, are you getting your Fugios off Ebay? I look there every now and then but haven't yet bought any.
All of them came from Ebay and about 99.5% of my collection came from Ebay and the rest came from Heritage. Where I'm located, there are no colonial or early coppers available so I have to get them online. I will have one more Fugio coming in next month, a 20-R, that I offered to Garrett but he went with the last one he got instead. I'll post pics when it arrives. Ribbit
I have a few but I can't play, no way to post pictures! Most of my varieties have already been posted anyway, 9-P, 14-O,15-Y, I do have a 3-D though. I tried getting pictures but my old camera only shows a brown blur. If I get a chance I will fool with it some more.
I've seen some on Heritage and just drool! :eat: You need to get your Mom to take her camera with her to the shop and take pics of them, then post them (not in this thread) so we can attribute them. Who knows, one might be a R-7+ and worth a whole lot more than he's asking. Ribbit
We're going there today after school to drop off my new Fugio so they can submit it to NCS. :high5: I'll have my Mom ask if they'll let us take a couple pictures of their Fugios. :thumb: I'll let you know how it goes. :secret: Garrett
Great thread Toad. I don't have a Fugio but I can always learn from here on out and maybe, some day, own one of my own. Bruce
There have been a few peeps mention the price of Fugios and I thought this auction was interesting (18-U variety): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=250365258190 That coin sold on Heritage 7 years ago for $517.50: http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=288&Lot_No=7876 Does that say to us that early copper prices are going thru the roof? Or could it be more peeps are buying online? Or is it a combination of both? I think it's both and the original sale didn't net near what it was worth and the current auction was much closer to what it's worth today but still below what it could realize. No matter what, that is one pretty copper! :thumb: Ribbit Ps: For those that recall my recent CAC Sticker Thread, this Fugio was the reason I asked about the sticker.
HT - the ebay coin with the CAC sticker is one nice Fugio! Nice color, great smooth planchet. (Mine is not too far different from that one, but has a little more wear)
Hi C.T friends and fellow Fugio lovers, Please see what the mailman brought to my door today - just before going to work too which really helped me make it through an otherwise exhausting day! This one from Shawn Yancey, an N14O. Toad, just saw we already have a 14O (yours). Now we have two of these in the C.T collection. It has medium dark chocolate surfaces. The numbers on the sundial are almost all visible. A lovely example really. These are Shawn's picures (i gave up trying to photograph it through the slab). Hope you enjoy seeing it. Regards, Ed
That sure looks undergraded! :kewl: But it sure is purdy! :thumb: Added to the list. Ribbit Ps: I can't edit the list. I will have to find out what's going on? :goofer: Pps: I found out today that there's a 10 day limit on editing a post so I'll have to find a Mod that's willing to edit the OP so we can keep it updated and I won't have to pester Doug to do it. Doug did edit it and your 14-O is now on the list, Eduard!
Hello Fellow Fugio lovers, time to bump our Fugio thread to the top again. Here is another one for addition to the CoinTalk Fugio collection: an N 15-H, R-4. It has a tiny planchet defect as struck, and a small scratch on reverse, but it grades a full fine with nice eye appeal and color (judging by Stacks pictures). This coin has "character"! Regards, Eduard
Gorgeous, Eduard! :thumb: I will hunt down a Mod and ask them to put yours on the CT Fugio Collection list. Ribbit
Thank you H.T! I fell in love with it when i saw it, and i have chosen it for my avatar. It has just the color that i like in copper (I wish that more of my coppers, specially lmy large cents, had that tone). Take care, Eduard
I sent Speedy a note so hopefully I got it right and he'll be able to figure out what I was asking for. :goofer: Ribbit Ps: Speedy put you on the list.
After a very long delay, I have finally gotten around to imaging my lone fugio, perhaps a bit the worse for wear and corrosion, but like all of them it has a lot of character!
thanks for the attribution, Toad! I have to say the fugios are sort of addictive, but I am going to soldier on and try to finish my dinky Colonial/early US type set before digressing into fugio varieties, tempting though they are! Great fugio, Eduard, another prime specimen from your collection.
