While dumping our pennies at the bank today our usual teller handed us all this from the reject bin. She must have been saving it up all week for him lol! One of the Canadian dimes is 1968, which I found is 50% silver and worth about $1.20 with the current price of silver. There was also a clad Kennedy half and a Brasil 5 centavos 1969 coin along with a PGA tour charter member coin and a lucky charm. I think we owe her a box of candy lol
I work as a Customer Service Manager at Walmart which means I work up front with the cashiers and the Coinstar machine is in the front, too. I get a lot of wheaties and other 'interesting' coins that go throught the registers. I don't get anything from the Coinstar because Coinstar services it. But, since the cashiers and fellow CSMs know I collect coins they are on the lookout for wheaties when I'm not there. Last week a lady was 'dumping' coins in the Coinstar and she dropped one container that she had coins in. It was approximately 100 cents. A fellow CSM went to help her pick them up and saw a bunch of wheaties. She said something to the customer about the wheaties and the lady asked if she wanted them. My fellow associate said sure and the customer GAVE them to her. They are All wheaties, and probably 90 are Stealies. I have been so busy I haven't been able to go through them but they look to be in good shape. Great find for me!!!
