Looks like a copy of a Marc Antony denarius. @Bing is quite the collector of the real coins. I'm 99.99% this isn't real though. I believe I can see a seam around the edge of your coin.
Yeah I’m not hopeful on this find but every now and then people throw the most random coins, tokens, bullets, etc. in that machine. Few months ago I sent a 1858 Flying eagle small cent to tpg that was in that coin machine, collected coins from at least 30 different countries which included some silver
Recent thanksgiving week finds in the coin machine Big Mac find Didn’t have time to sort out by countries especially the ones with foreign characters 1858 flying eagle small letters found in the reject pool along with the world coins And a nice VDB in the reject pile as well
I posted awhile ago of a 1857 flying eagle cent, I found it a register Now if I can only find a 1856.....
Wow, neat find. The best Meow has done is to find about half a dozen silver dimes in a year and a half. And a few pawfuls of foreign stuff. But lately Meow finds nothing, so Meow suspects the Coinstars keep it for themselves now.
Could very well be the real thing. Weight is consistent for the period/era, and the bankers marks are quite convincing. If real, it's quite a neat find You should post it (or have it moved by a Mod) to the Ancient coins section though. You would get more returns and advices Q
How do you all find this stuff? My grocery store has a coin machine, not a Coinstar, and I never see anything in the reject bin.
Could you take pictures of the edge of the ancient coin and post them here? Keep hunting the coin star machines. Let us know when you find that gold piece. Happy Hunting.
My apologies it’s not the coinstar brand it’s a different brand forgot the company, but it’s the red/grey machine
I’ll update on what I find after Christmas week haha, I’ll repost those pictures when I get home later tonight
