Some of you are being awefully hard on Ro and I think that's too bad. It costs you nothing to humor someone who is obviously having a tough time with life at the moment... disappointed @ro1974 I like you and I like to look at the new coins you get. If you take anything away from this thread it should be PLEASE STOP WORRYING ABOUT LIKES. Just don't mention them anymore... ever! Also, maybe try to not post the same coins so often and give more positive comments to other peoples threads and more people will come around and be friendly with you. Here's a coin I haven't posted yet to make this rant legit.
I agree with the above, but understand y'alls history with @ro1974 is much more than I have seen or experienced, but Ro doesn't bother me in the least. It does seem to me Ro is getting it here in this thread a tad undeservedly. I read the post as being a commentary that Ro is a bit indifferent to the coins mentioned because they seem readily available. I think Ro likes them and wouldn't mind actually owning them but simply hasn't bought them because in the 10 years Ro has been collecting they are still available and likely in the years to come there will still be plenty available. Since I am US coin convert I would liken this to a 3 legged Buffalo or a 55 DDO - they would be nice to have, but there are other coins that don't come along that often to buy and when/if the time comes I'll likely be able to find either of those without much difficulty. -d
I agree with @Curtisimo. We should all be more tolerant especially when considering a fellow numismatist is trying to converse in a second language, and having personal issues he's dealing with as well. @ro1974 you have some beautiful coins. Please keep posting, but forget about the likes.
I dislike seeing 5 or 7 threads posted in one swoop from or, and than a few are duplicates no less. That's my biggest frustration.
@ro1974 Likes aren't that big a deal. Back when this forum was on the old server many of us had hundreds to a thousand likes. When CT changed servers, all the likes were gone and everyone started again with 0. Nobody complained about it, we all knew, just post what you like the likes will come to you.
What people will mostly "like", even more than good coins (I still have to understand what a good coin is, not knowing about bad coins yet) is friendship and/or shared knowledge and/or humor and/or creativity and/or whatever makes life nicer and easier when you are spending time with friends. Most times people are nice because you see them as nice persons, and they will behave accordingly Try that @ro1974 and trust me, you will feel way better Q
I don't know but this guy has been popular lately... Gordian III, AD 238-244 AE, sestertius, 25.46g, 32.5mm; 12h; Rome, AD 238-239 Obv.: IMP CAES MANT GORDIANVS AVG; laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right Rev.: VICTORIA AVG; Victory advancing left, carrying wreath and palm; S-C
That top bronze is the real winner of my Gordian III collection thus far. It is very rare, and the two examples on sale on vcoins.com are in worse condition than mine and cost $225 and $250 respectively, while I could probably be charged with theft for how little I paid for mine...Only $70. LOL. The deal of the year for me, if not the best deal of my entire collecting history.
Fallen horseman (the #1 most posted coin, bar none) Oh, but on a more innocent note ... here is a photo that I just snapped of my poor ol' hound (Buster) Man, is there anything more pitiful than a cone-dog?
